Johann Mazé is a drummer , percussionist who also likes electronics. He plays in groups like France Sauvage and Lord Rectangle . He also was a member of Cercle des Mallissimalistes, Chausse Trappe, La STPO, Brutal 10w, l'Ensemble Un and Nouvelles Impressions d’Afrique.

In his solo concerts, he plays minimal drums, and a set of metallic and plastic objects that evolve following his new findings. The form tries to maintain an ever turning intense rhythm, that develops thick textures trying to fill and saturate concert space from tiny cellars to big halls. Two cassettes catching this intention were released by label Cocktail Pueblo.

He also practices sound editing with reports, interviews, radiophonic pieces and electro-acoustics. For example , a portrait in three parts of Gérard, inventor, gardener and retired professor (a cassette will be released by Gravats), Battre, une enquête sur la batterie, et celles et ceux qui la battent (Drumming an investigation on drums and drummers), a portrait of Professeur Berthou et les anticonférences de l'Université du Tout Savoir or Les décennies, an Algerian episode (that appeared between two electro-acoustic pieces on the record Les transports edited by Tanz Procesz), he also assembles voices for the company O.L.A., for the series De l'autre côté... and for theatre.

On his album Autre brousse, he played with Jihem Rita and other musicians. 8 tracks , 8 attempts to approach chanson, pop, the obsession for rhythmic instability ,dance and all what remains in between.
